Currently, anyone with Edit permissions to the module can edit any Article. This should be restricted so only the Author and Admins can edit the article.

is this an adjustable setting? or do we have to make everyone administrator who wants to adjust another users article?

It is an adjustable setting. If you're running 4.1 or greater, the permissions grid in the module settings should have 4 columns rather than just the usual 2 (view and edit). If you don't have 4 columns, please upgrade to 4.2.
